Turns Out, There Was Something Wrong With The Water Heater Installation That Caused A Family To Die By Electrocution At Pulomas Luxury Housing

JAKARTA - The East Jakarta Metro Police, Pulogadung Police and the National Police Headquarters Puslabfor began investigating the crime scene (TKP) in the bathroom where one family was electrocuted to death in the Pulomas luxury housing estate, East Jakarta, on Tuesday, March 22, afternoon. The police also put up a yellow police line at the gate of the victim's house.

East Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Pol Budi Sartono said, today the East Jakarta Metro Police conducted a crime scene at Jalan Pulomas Barat 12, No. 4, RT 003/10, Kayu Putih Village, Pulogadung District, East Jakarta.

"Today, Puslabfor has come to check the source and how the short circuit occurred," said Kombes Pol Budi to reporters at the scene, Tuesday, March 22.

The police chief explained and confirmed that the four victims who died were caused by an electric short circuit.

"It has been explained that his death was due to an electrical short circuit. There are two witnesses who have been examined. From the family and assistants who were there when they saw the victim," he said.

Meanwhile, the Dantim of TKP processing for the Puslabfor Polri Headquarters Kompol Karya said, from the results of the TKP, his party found evidence of a leaking current in the water heater installation.

"At the TKP, we found evidence that caused the family to die due to electric shock. We found a leaking current in the water heater installation," Kompol Karya told reporters.

According to Kompol Karya, from the installation it should be continued down a canal to the ground. (but) It enters the installation so that it hits the handle where there is a conductor.

"Because of the wet conditions, it could lead to this incident. We have secured the evidence, and we will investigate it further in the laboratory," he said.

Previously, a tragic event was experienced by a family consisting of husband, wife and children. They are Bernard Gunawan (37) husband, Novianti (29) wife and their child with the initials EA (1) is a toddler boy.

They died after it was strongly suspected that they were electrocuted from a water heater in a bathroom in their house.

Apart from that one family, a babysitter named Suratmi (51) also died along with the other family.

According to the information gathered, the incident occurred on Sunday, March 20, afternoon, at around 16.00 WIB. However, the officers only found out about the incident on Sunday, March 20, the night.
