JAKARTA - Special Staff to the Minister of BUMN Arya Sinulingga said that the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) collected donations for handling the impact of COVID-19. Donations collected reached IDR 444 billion until August 31. Meanwhile, the total value of donations distributed at the same time was IDR 341 billion.
"We have collected donations to the BUMN COVID-19 handling team," he said in a virtual discussion, Thursday, September 24.
Apart from collecting donations, said Arya, BUMN also provided basic food assistance and electronic money for 1,000 homes and social foundations in Jakarta, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi (Jadetabek).
Then, BUMN also participated in meeting the needs of medical devices, medicines and personal protective equipment (PPE) to the regions.
"We send PPE to the regions. We mobilize 31 BUMN hospitals to handle COVID-19 in the regions. We mobilize the 107 BUMN SOE task force in 34 provinces," he explained.
Arya said, the Ministry of BUMN is also aware that not only the health sector is affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, but the economic sector. According to him, the economic sector also needs a stimulus from the government to keep it moving.
For this reason, said Arya, SOEs are developing MSMEs to help this sector survive amidst the uncertainty and slowdown in the global and national economy.
"Because this has an impact on the economy, we are conducting a MSME development program. They can participate in procurement in BUMN. We are working with marketplaces such as Lazada, Zalora, Tokopedia, Shopee so that they can revive MSMEs," he said.
