Two Households Abused Toddlers Children Of Employers In Cengkareng Become Suspects, Sis Seto: Perpetrators Have Experienced The Same Incident In Childhood

JAKARTA - The Cengkareng Police have named two household assistants (ART) with the initials ANI (29) and INA (18) as suspects in the abuse of three of their employer's children who are still toddlers.

"Both of them have been named suspects and charged with Article 44 paragraph 1 of the Domestic Violence Law and Article 76c JO Article 80 paragraph 1 of the Child Protection Law with a penalty of eight years in prison," said Cengkareng Police Chief Kompol Ardhie Demastyo to reporters, Monday, March 21.

Meanwhile, West Jakarta Metro Police Head of Public Relations, Kompol Moch Taufik Iksan, said that the household member had the heart to abuse him because his employer's child was difficult to feed.

"The motive was that he said his son didn't want to eat, so he (the perpetrator) was upset," he said.

The emotional nature of the perpetrator is one of the factors that he has the heart to abuse his employer's children.

"So this maid is typically emotional, temperamental," he said.

Responding to this problem, Child Observer Kak Seto together with the Indonesian Child Protection Agency (LPAI) wanted to see firsthand how the psychological condition of children and the motivation of the perpetrators had the heart to carry out such violent acts.

Kak Seto explained that currently the victim's condition has improved and they are starting to feel confident in interacting.

"We help and encourage victims to return to their normal psychological condition," said Kak Seto.

Kak Seto also said that he and LPAI are open to helping the police and victims in dealing with child abuse problems to help psychologically the victims.

Sis Seto continued, he has also had a dialogue with the perpetrators of violence perpetrated by ART in a golf lake residence.

"The perpetrator had experienced trauma when he was a child, he had experienced violence based on his confession," he said.

The perpetrator admitted that he was sorry for what he had done, what he had experienced that caused his emotions to explode.

"We will also provide assistance to the victim's psychology," he said.
