TANGERANG - The Tangerang District Attorney's Office (Kejari), Banten, has named two new suspects for alleged corruption in the case of illegal levies on the Family Hope Program (PKH) funds in four villages/kelurahan in Tigaraksa District, Tangerang Regency for the 2018-2019 period.

The Head of the District Attorney's Office for Tangerang, Nova Elida Saragih, said that as a result of the abuse, the state suffered losses of Rp. 635.592.071.

"The results of the examination and data collection in the field by us (Kejari) and finding two pieces of evidence, then we officially announce the activities of the Family Hope Program (PKH) in 2018-2019, we declare two people legitimate as suspects," he said at a press conference in Jakarta. Tangerang, Antara, Monday, March 21.

He explained that the two new suspects who had been named had the initials ADP and YN with their respective roles as social assistants for PKH fund assistance in Tangerang Regency.

According to him, the two suspects for corruption have accompanied 600 beneficiary families (KPM) in four villages/kelurahan.

"ADP as PKH companion from 2018-2019 was 265 KPM in Bantar Panjang, Pasir Nangka, and Margasari villages. While YN assisted as many as 335 KPM in Cileles Village," he said.

He said the modus operandi of the suspects was to withdraw money through BriLink and deduct the money withdrawn from each account and revoke KPM's savings book.

"They (suspects) withdrew money from KPM's ATM through BriLink and revoked the passbook," he said.

For his actions, he continued, the two suspects were charged with Article 2 paragraph (1) or Article 3 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 of 1999 as amended and supplemented by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption with the threat of punishment in over five years in prison.
