TV Banned From Broadcasting Preachers From Forbidden Organizations, Denny Siregar Shocked But Agrees: KPI Tumben Is True

JAKARTA - Social media activist Denny Siregar agrees with the latest policy of the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI) to prohibit television broadcasting institutions from displaying speakers with backgrounds from banned organizations.

Although Denny admitted that he was surprised when he learned the news, he supported the regulation for the common good.

"Well, this fits. Tumben @KPI_Pusat is right," said Denny on his Twitter account, @Dennysiregar7, Monday, March 21.

The KPI policy is contained in the KPI Circular (SE) concerning Broadcast Implementation and Supervision for Broadcasting Institutions in the month of Ramadan 2022. The SE was issued on Tuesday, March 15.

Apart from not allowing lecturers or preachers with backgrounds from banned organizations, KPI also prohibits television from showing expressions or body movements that have vulgar or erotic connotations.

Previously, Denny Siregar, who is famous for often commenting on policies to the behavior of people or the community, brought up the digital footprint of the 6th President of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY).

This effort was in response to the satire of the telematics expert Roy Suryo to Denny some time ago. Roy commented on the action of rain handler Rara Istiani Wulandari during the Mandalika 2022 MotoGP event, Sunday, March 20.

Rain is known to have fallen before the main race at the Mandalika Circuit. Rara also acts to stop the rain from entering the circuit arena. Soon the rain stopped and the main MotoGP race was officially held.

"When it comes to occult issues, Mr. @SBYudhoyono is always at the front," said Denny, followed by screenshots of media reports about SBY's activities accompanied by a rain handler several years ago.
