Customs And Excise And Ganjar Pranowo Will Prepare Tobacco Industrial Zones In Jepara And Kudus

JAKARTA - The Directorate of Customs and Excise for the Region of Central Java-DIY has prepared a Tobacco Products Industrial Zone (KIHT) in the districts of Kudus and Jepara.

Padmoyo Tri Wikanto, Head of the Customs and Excise Directorate for the Central Java Region, said that the development of the area was a collaboration with the Central Java Provincial Government and the Regional Governments of Kudus and Jepara.

For the Kudus region, he said, the Minister of Finance has issued a decree Number 164 / WBC.10 / 2020 concerning the Stipulation of Place as KIHT and Granting of KIH Entrepreneur Permits.

"Jepara has entered the framework of reference planning stage," he said, as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, September 23.

This industrial area, he continued, would grow small tobacco products industries and their supporters, and drive the people's economy.

Separately, DPR Commission XI member, Fathan, on the sidelines of his working visit at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise of Central Java-DIY, appreciated the planning for the development of the tobacco products industrial area.

Commission XI itself, according to him, will seek input from hand-rolled kretek cigarette entrepreneurs regarding the development of the area.
