Besides Building 10 Temporary Residential Units In West Pasaman, Padang High Court Gives School Clothes

PADANG - The Padang High Court, West Sumatra, built 10 temporary housing units for earthquake victims in Kajai, Talamau District, West Pasaman Regency, West Sumatra.

"Today we inaugurated the construction of temporary housing for earthquake victims in Parit Kajai Village," said the head of the Padang Amril High Court at Simpang Empat as quoted by Antara, Thursday, March 17.

According to him, the construction of temporary housing was carried out as a form of their concern for the disaster experienced by the residents of West Pasaman.

"This mourning is a shared grief. We helped directly by building temporary housing for residents whose houses were heavily damaged," he said.

In addition to 10 units of temporary housing, his party also provided blankets, mattresses, pillows, school clothes, school packages, books and sarongs. "This assistance comes from the budget of the General Judiciary Agency of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia. In the future we will help again," he said.

The chairman of the West Pasaman District Court, Bayu Soho Rahardjo, said that the temporary housing assistance was one of his staff's efforts to return residents to their original lives, although gradually.

"The grief of the Kajai residents, our grief too. Hopefully with the temporary shelter, residents can return to shelter," he said.

According to him, a temporary shelter that was built measuring 6x 3 meters, GRC walls, uses cast floors, uses zinc roofs and uses electricity.

"In addition to Parit Village, temporary housing was also built in Tangah Village, Sungai Lampang, Limpato and Lambah Kajai," he said.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Regent of West Pasaman, Risnawanto, thanked the Padang High Court for building residential houses for earthquake victims.

"This temporary residence is certainly very useful because it will soon enter the month of Ramadan," he said.

It was greatly helped by the assistance from various parties in disaster management.

"Without outside help, we, the West Pasaman Regency Government, are nothing. Thank you to all those who have helped," he said.

Also present on the occasion were the Regent of West Pasaman, Hamsuardi, the religious court and other related parties.
