BOGOR - Head of the Bogor City Police, Kombes Pol. Susatyo Purnomo Condro, said he was ready to oversee the implementation of the regulation on subsidized bulk cooking oil by market traders, which was just decided by the central government.
"It will be monitored, because of the recent policy, we will monitor in the future how it will be implemented in each market and carried out by sellers," he said in Bogor City, Thursday, March 17.
Susatyo ensured that with the formation of a joint team of 200 officers from the TNI, Polri and the Cooperative, MSME, Industry and Trade Service (DiskopUMKMdagin) they would oversee the distribution of packaged and bulk cooking oil.
The officers will supervise traders not to stockpile and buyers in an orderly manner according to applicable regulations. With limited stock distributed to agents or large wholesalers in the area, Susatyo hopes that the public will also understand that they don't necessarily buy a lot.
The results of his monitoring at Pasar Baru Bogor on Wednesday (16/3), now prices in traditional markets range from Rp. 14,000 to Rp. 16,000.
Meanwhile, regarding the new government regulation, replacing HET with a subsidy of bulk cooking oil to Rp. 14,000, it has not yet been sold to the public at the Bogor City level.
On Tuesday, March 15, the government through the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto announced that it would distribute subsidies for bulk cooking oil of Rp. 14,000 per liter.
Subsidies will be given based on funds from the Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDP-KS).
Airlangga explained that the subsidy for bulk cooking oil was given because it took into account the current situation and conditions regarding the current distribution of cooking oil.
With this new policy, the price of other packaged cooking oil such as simple and premium packaging can adjust to the existing economic value, so it is hoped that cooking oil will be available in modern and traditional markets.
"For this reason, the National Police Chief (General Listyo Sigit Prabowo) will ensure the availability and smooth supply of supplies," he said.
However, along with the announcement of the new policy, according to a cooking oil trader at Pasar Baru Bogor named Wati, as of today, the price of bulk oil which was previously Rp. 14,000, the purchase price of traders at agents has now increased by Rp. 1,500 to Rp. 15,500 so that the selling price to the public has reached Rp. IDR 17,000.
The shop was one of those questioned by the Head of the Bogor City Police, Kombes Pol. Susatyo Purnomo Condro and the Mayor of Bogor, Bima Arya Sugiarto, during his review last Wednesday.
Wati admitted that she had found that the price of bulk cooking oil had started to rise, both at the agent and at the shop she used to buy.
"Just today, here is the bill. The packaging is difficult, the bulk increases," he said, quoted by Antara.
