After The Car Was Swept Away, The Police Closed Access To The Forbidden Zone At Cengkrong Trenggalek Beach

TRENGGALEK - Police officers assisted by the management finally closed access to the prohibited zone for all types of vehicles on the shores of Cengkrong Beach, Trenggalek, East Java.

The closure was carried out by emergency personnel by installing wooden and bamboo barriers/barriers on the path to the shoreline.

"This is temporary. We will coordinate with the management so that in the future there will be warning boards and more permanent barrier facilities to prevent vehicles from entering the shoreline," said Watulimo Police Chief AKP Suyono in Trenggalek, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, March 16.

The precautionary measure was taken to prevent the tourist car from being washed away from happening again. Supervision will also be tightened in order to avoid the risk of accidents that cause loss of life or loss of property.

"We urge tourists to park in the space provided," he said.

It was confirmed separately, the Head of the Tourism and Culture Office of Trenggalek Regency, Sunyoto, supported the preventive measures initiated by the police.

He asserted, tourist vehicles are prohibited from entering the coastal area because it is not intended.

Only certain types of vehicles are allowed to enter the Cengkrong beach area and its surroundings.

The car in question must have special specifications, one of which is the type of ATV (all-terrain vehicle) and a trail bike that is provided by the tour manager.

"If it is already known by the management and must find a safe way," said Sunyoto.

Regarding the incident of a tourist car drifting on Cengkrong Beach, the day before Tuesday, March 15, Sunyoto ensured that his party would evaluate the tour manager so that visitors would be more comfortable but not ignore the safety aspect of tourists.

It will also increase the monitoring side so that similar incidents do not happen again.

“But according to the information I got, (the incident of the car being carried away) is outside the management area. Actually there is no track (public car) there. I will give a warning to the manager to increase supervision at tourist attractions for the common good," said Sunyoto.
