Convinced To Overcome Floods, Bandung Regent Suggests Coordinating Minister Luhut To Build A 48 Hectare Artificial Lake

BANDUNG - Bandung Regent Dadang Supriatna admitted that he had proposed to the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Panjaitan to build a 48-hectare artificial lake in Tegalluar, Bandung Regency, West Java. This lake is to overcome the flood.

With the artificial lake, according to him, the area that is often flooded in Bandung Regency and in the Greater Bandung area is believed to be reduced.

"I have proposed a potential 48 hectares in the Tegalluar area that can be used as an artificial lake. The land is from entrepreneurs who have donated their land, and it turns out that after the proposal the Coordinating Minister responded. Hopefully it can be realized as soon as possible," said Dadang while reviewing the Bojongsoang WWTP, Bandung Regency, West Java, Antara, Tuesday, March 15.

According to him, the plan to build an artificial lake will be followed up in collaboration with other parties. Dadang also admitted that he had received a positive signal from Luhut about the project.

Dadang gave an example, the artificial lake or retention pond located in the Andir area, Bandung Regency has reduced flooding around southern Bandung.

"So there is an increase and there is a reduction in the area that is usually flooded in the area, to not be flooded," he said.

Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan stated that the management of the Citarum River Basin (DAS) in West Java had reached 80 percent.

"Whatever we do here, the benefits must be felt, not only by the people of the City and Regency of Bandung, but also for the Greater Bandung area," said Luhut.
