BADUNG - A Nigerian citizen, Emmanuel Ebuka Amanambu, was arrested by Bali immigration officers for violating his residence permit.

Head of the Special Class I Immigration Office of TPI Ngurah Rai I Nyoman Gede Surya Mataram said that the foreigner was proven to have violated Article 78, Paragraph 3 of Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration because he had a residence permit that had expired for more than 60 days.

"The person in question is subject to a deportation process and (still) waiting for the deportation process," Mataram said in a written statement, Monday, March 14.

Furthermore, officers from the KKP validated the results of the foreigner's PCR test and confirmed that the test results were genuine. However, the foreigner could not show travel documents, but could only show a card that was claimed to be a substitute for his passport book.

"Because the person concerned could not show his travel documents. Then the Immigration Ngurah Rai team took him to the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office for further examination," he said.

Meanwhile, the foreigner's passport has a passport validity period until January 21, 2024. While the residence permit is until August 21, 2019.

"Based on the stamp on the passport, it is known that the person concerned entered Indonesian territory through Soekarno-Hatta Airport on July 23, 2019 using a B211 index visa with a validity period of 30 days," said Mataram.
