JAKARTA - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk noted that 63 percent of non-class I or freight vehicles were proven to have violated the provisions on carrying capacity or Over Dimension and Over Load (ODOL) during control operations earlier this year.

Jasa Marga Corporate Communication Dwimawan Heru said ODOL vehicle operations were held on three Jasa Marga Group toll roads from January to February 2022.

The locations for the ODOL control operations are the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, the Jakarta-Tangerang Toll Road and the Ngawi-Kertosono Toll Road.

"In that period, there were 649 vehicles proven to be ODOL, or about 63 percent of the total 1,030 vehicles caught in the operation for cracking down on ODOL vehicles. This number decreased by 3.97 percent compared to the same period in 2021," said Heru in a written statement issued received in Jakarta, Antara, Monday, March 14.

Of the total 649 vehicles, Jasa Marga noted that around 493 vehicles (75.96 percent) were overloaded (overloaded), 61 vehicles (9.40 percent) were overloaded (Over Dimension), and as many as 95 vehicles (14.64 percent). violate the completeness of driving documents.

Jasa Marga noted that the highest percentage of ODOL occurred on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road at 312 vehicles or 68.9 percent of the netted vehicles, followed by the Jakarta-Tangerang Toll Road with 313 vehicles or 58.8 percent of the netted vehicles, and the Ngawi-Tangerang Toll Road. Kertosono as many as 24 vehicles or 53.3 percent of the netted vehicles.

During the ODOL operation, the vehicle that is proven to have violated is ticketed by the Police, then a sticker is attached as a marker that the vehicle is an ODOL vehicle and is issued to the nearest toll gate. Load transfer is also carried out during ODOL operations, especially for overloads that exceed 80 percent of the Total Permitted Weight (JBI).

“ODOL vehicles greatly affect traffic and road conditions, such as their very low speed which interferes with the travel time of other vehicles. Of course this also has the potential to cause an accident. We recorded that the number of accidents involving ODOL vehicles reached 37.5 percent of the total accidents in 2021, with the tendency for the type of incident to be front and rear collisions," said Heru.

Jasa Marga has again carried out a firm crackdown on non-class I vehicles or goods transportation that exceeds the provisions for carrying capacity and dimensions, known as Over Dimension and Over Load (ODOL). In collaboration with the Directorate General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation, the Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) of the Ministry of PUPR, Korlantas, Land Transportation Management Center (BPTD) and the local Transportation Service, ODOL vehicle operations will be held on three Jasa Marga Group toll roads from January to February 2022. .
