Sandiaga: The Impact Of The Ministry Of Tourism And Creative Economy's Instagram Account Being Hacked Is Crucial

JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno said the impact of the hacked official Instagram account @kemenparekraf.ri was quite crucial considering that more than 800 thousand people followed the account.

As is known, since Wednesday (9/3) at 20.05 WIB, the Kemenparekraf account is experiencing problems and cannot be accessed.

"Currently, we are still coordinating and communicating with related parties such as Facebook Indonesia to immediately restore the Instagram account @kemenparekraf.ri," said Sandiaga as quoted by Antara, Thursday, March 10.

Menparekraf apologized to followers of the Instagram account @kemenparekraf.ri for the inconvenience that caused the flow of information dissemination through social media to be hampered.

Sandiaga stressed that his party was very concerned about efforts to recover the account so that the distribution of information such as policies regarding the abolition of the requirement for antigen tests for domestic travelers could be accessed again.

"However, this information cannot be obtained because the Kemenparekraf social media is currently inaccessible. Therefore, I emphasize the call 'no buzzer, create anti hacker'," he said.

On the other hand, Sandiaga sees that this situation opens up business opportunities and employment opportunities for digital creative economy players so that Indonesia has a reliable cyber defense, so that it can be protected from various potential disturbances in the future.

Tourism and creative economy actors are asked not to worry because information about the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy can still be accessed through other official platforms which include the website kemenparekraf.go.id, Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube with the account name of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, as well as Tiktok with the name Kemenparekraf account.

"We hope that the recovery of the @kemenparekraf.ri Instagram account can be completed soon so that it can operate again as soon as possible to provide up-to-date information about the tourism industry, for the sake of economic revival and the creation of the widest possible employment opportunities," he said.
