3 Months Escape, Perpetrators Of Obscenity In Banyuwangi Surrender To Police

BANYUWANGI - After almost 3 months on the run, the perpetrators of sexual abuse in Kalibaru, Banyuwangi, East Java, surrendered. The perpetrator with the initials HD (58) molested his own grandson.

Kapolsek Kalibaru AKP Abdul Jabbar said the perpetrator surrendered himself to the Mapolsek on Wednesday 9 March.

"The perpetrator has surrendered himself to us at around 19:00 WIB," said AKP Abdul, Thursday, March 10.

The obscenity case occurred in mid-December 2021. HD is alleged to have molested his 7-year-old grandson.

"The action took place at HD's house, when conditions were quiet," said Jabbar.

The perpetrator's actions were spotted by neighbors. The witness who saw then told the victim's biological mother.

This case was revealed after the victim admitted being molested by her own grandfather when questioned by her parents. The victim's parents immediately reported the case to the Kalibaru Police.

The suspect, who knew what his family and police had done, decided to run away.

After three months of running away and hiding, the suspect finally returned to his home in the Kalibaru District.

The suspect's return was known to the head of the local hamlet, after being interrogated, the suspect admitted that he was ready to take responsibility for his actions.

"After that, the suspect, accompanied by the head of the local hamlet, surrendered to the Kalibaru Police," explained the West Java AKP.

The suspect was charged with Perpu Number 1 of 2016 concerning the Second Amendment to Law Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection.
