TANGERANG - The central government through the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) has issued a new policy to ride electric trains (KRL). The rules include easing social distancing until children under the age of six are allowed to board the land transportation.
The regulation is contained in the Circular Letter (SE) of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) Number 25 of 2022 concerning Guidelines for the Implementation of Domestic Travel by Rail Transportation during the COVID-19 Pandemic Period.
Head of Tangerang Station Eka Gusti Fadli said children under six years old were advised to take the KRL during off-peak hours.
Eka detailed that peak hours at Tangerang Station are from 06.00 WIB to 08.00 WIB. Thus, children aged 6 years and under are advised to take the KRL from Tangerang Station from 08.00 WIB onwards.
"The application is the same as for the elderly, we don't take the trip during rush hour," said Eka when confirmed, VOI, Wednesday, March 9.
In its implementation, it will ask their companions about their goals. If it is urgent, children aged 6 years and under will be allowed to take the KRL from there.
"Yes, if it is urgent, we will still ride it at that time. The child's mask must also be considered," he said.
