BANGKA - The COVID-19 Task Force (Satgas) of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province, believes the number of COVID-19 cases in the area will decrease after the government enforces no antigen and PCR tests for travellers.

"I believe the number of COVID-19 cases will decrease for the next three days after the government enforces no antigen test and PCR for travellers," said Secretary of the Babel Islands Province COVID-19 Handling Task Force Micron Antariksa while visiting the simultaneous vaccine service at the Air Hygienic Market in Ruay Bangka. , reported by Antara, Wednesday, March 9.

He explained that the decline in the number of COVID-19 cases was because the data for travellers was no longer available at the terminal, airport or port.

"Even if it is later found that the spread of COVID-19 cases, travelers will get it from a health center or hospital if the traveler is willing to carry out an examination," he explained.

Meanwhile, said Mikron Antariksa, thousands of COVID-19 cases in the region are dominated by travellers based on data from terminals, airports and ports.

As of today, there have been a total of 4,367 cases of COVID-19 in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province or an additional 616 people. The addition of 616 cases of COVID-19 spread in Pangkalpinang as many as 252 cases, Bangka 121 cases, Central Bangka 86 cases, West Bangka 61 cases , Belitung 72 cases, South Bangka 15 cases and from East Belitung as many as nine cases.

"I ask all travelers to immediately check with the health service center or at the nearest hospital if they experience health problems," he said.

He reminded the public to remain disciplined in implementing health protocols and registering vaccines immediately if they have not received vaccine services, both the first, second and complementary doses.
