Update On COVID-19 As Of September 18: New Cases Of 3,891, Total 236,519

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 44,428 specimens were examined, the results were 3,891 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 236,519 people," the Ministry of Health was quoted as saying, Friday, September 18.

Cases recovered today increased by 4,088, so that a total of 170,774 people recovered. Then, 114 confirmed positive cases died and a total of 9,336 people.

The province with the most new cases was in DKI Jakarta with 1,258 new cases and a total of 59,840 cases. DKI Jakarta is also the province with the most accumulated cases in Indonesia.

Followed by East Java, which has 485 new cases with a total of 39,993 cases. West Java has 341 new cases and a total of 15,925 cases. Riau has 225 new cases and a total of 4,687 cases. Then, Central Java has 198 new cases and a total of 18,942 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an increase of 1,028 recovered cases. Followed by East Java with an additional 527 recovered cases, Central Java with an additional 420 recovered cases, and West Java with an additional 288 recovered cases.

Then, none of the provinces reported having no new cases today. Meanwhile, at least new cases were in North Maluku and Bangka Belitung with 1 case each.

In addition, the number of specimens that had been examined reached 2,841,352. In detail, 2,792,680 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 48,672 using molecular rapid tests (TCM).

"The number of positive results per number of specimens examined (positivity rate) was 14.1 percent," he wrote.

Finally, the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 104,866 people. Currently, 493 districts / cities from 34 provinces have cases of COVID-19.
