Aceh Governor Expects Normal Cooking Oil Supply Before Ramadan

BANDA ACEH - Aceh Governor Nova Iriansyah hopes that cooking oil prices can return to normal in Aceh in accordance with the government's highest retail price (HET) before Ramadan 1443 Hijri.

"In February last year, there was a crowd in the community regarding the scarcity of cooking oil supplies and following up on this, the Central Government has stabilized cooking oil prices through the highest retail price (HET)," Nova Iriansyah said in Banda Aceh as reported by Antara, Tuesday, 8 March.

He said the government had set the HET for premium packaged cooking oil at Rp. 14,000 per liter, simple packaging at Rp. 13,500 per liter and for bulk cooking oil at Rp. 11,500 per kilogram.

According to Nova, there is information that people still buy cooking oil at high prices, and there is still a shortage of stock, so this condition must be a serious concern from the Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID).

"The role of the Aceh TPID is to find the root of the problem for cooking oil, so that the supply of cooking oil, which is currently not back to normal, can return to normal before entering the month of Ramadan," he said, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, March 8.

Nova also hopes that traditional markets throughout Aceh can sell premium packaged cooking oil at a price of Rp. 14,000 thousand per liter as modern markets have done.

Meanwhile, the Head of Bank Indonesia Aceh, Achris Sarwani stated that the visit of the Minister of Trade to Aceh a few days ago was because Aceh was red in terms of distribution and with the presence of the Minister of Trade who assigned PPI to supply 100 thousand liters of oil from North Sumatra per day which was supplied to Simeulue. .

"Alhamdulillah, with the supply after the minister's visit in early March, the price was observed to have started to decline even though it did not match the HET price," he said.
