COVID-19 Update As Of March 7: New Cases 30,148, Deaths Increase By 401 Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 410,566 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 30,148 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulated positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 5,800,253 people and active cases have fallen by 25,381 to 422,892 cases," said Ministry of Health data, Tuesday, March 8.

The number of recovered cases today increased by 55,128 people, bringing the total to 5,226,530 recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 401 cases and the total was 150,831 people.

The province with the most new cases was in West Java with 7,194 cases and a total of 1,053,074 cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta which has 3,569 new cases with a total of 1,204,055 cases. East Java has 2,769 new cases and a total of 557,708 cases. Central Java has 2,682 new cases and a total of 600,187 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to West Java with an additional 22,001 recovered cases. Followed by Central Java with an additional 5,118 recovered cases, DKI Jakarta with an additional 4,229 recovered cases, and East Java with an additional 3,672 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 87,892,223.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 15.47 percent," he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 25,743 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

Furthermore, there are currently 192,263,704 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 148,587,718 of the second dose of vaccination. Then, the third dose of vaccination was 12,847,312. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
