Mandatory PCR On The Third Day, Here's Luhut's Explanation About Quarantine-Free for Foreign In Bali

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, explained the procedures for foreign travelers (PPLN) to Bali who is not required to undergo quarantine.

The quarantine-free policy for PPLN coming to Bali comes into effect today. First, PPLN must have made a reservation or hotel booking for at least 4 days.

"PPLNs who come must show a paid hotel booking that has been paid for at least 4 days or show proof of domicile in Bali (specifically) for Indonesian citizens", Luhut said in a virtual press conference, Monday, March 7.

Incoming PPLN must also be vaccinated with a complete dose (second dose) or a booster (third dose).

Upon arrival in Bali, PPLN must perform an entry test using PCR. While waiting for the test results, PPLN must wait in the hotel room until the negative test results come out.

"After being negative, you can freely move around while still following the health protocols", said Luhut.

Then, PPLN must again carry out a PCR test on the third day to confirm that it is negative for COVID-19. PCR was performed at each hotel.

"PPLN must still have health insurance that guarantees COVID-19 according to the provisions", he said.

If the trial without a special quarantine in Bali is successful and does not lead to an increase in COVID-19 cases, the government plans to free PPLN quarantine in all destination areas on April 1 or earlier.
