'This Is All Greedy, I Didn't Get Any,' Dian Was Annoyed When She Queued For Cooking Oil At The Pondok Aren Supermarket

TANGERANG - Dozens of shoppers at the supermarket, Pondok Aren, South Tangerang lined up to buy nurah cooking oil until they left the building, Sunday, March 6.

VOI monitoring at the supermarket at around 10.30 WIB, long queues to leave the building but still complying with health protocols.

One of the residents of Pamulang, Suryani, admitted that he was willing to wait in line for up to an hour to get the cheap cooking oil he wanted. In the regulations, Suryani claims, it is only allowed to buy 2 liters of cooking oil at a price of Rp. 14 thousand per liter.

"I was walking around in an empty Lotte (Bintaro). You know it's here, so I've been here. I arrived late, the others in the morning. I've been in line for an hour," said Suryani when met at the location, Sunday, March 6 " If you buy it, people say you can only buy 2 liters," said Suryani.

Suryani is worried that the scarcity of cooking oil will be felt until the holy month of Ramadan. He hopes that the Central Government will quickly resolve the problem.

"Oil is a necessity, if it's empty, it's confusing to cook. Don't let people die looking for oil (because) it's a need for everyone. It's a hard time," he said.

Another visitor, Dian said she had been in line for more than an hour. However, he did not get the cheap cooking oil he wanted.

"Yeah, it's finished. I bought this for greedy people. I didn't get any," he said.

The supermarket official, who did not want to be named, said that his party had prepared 300 cartons of cooking oil. However, now it has run out of buyers.

"Since 8 this morning, there is a queue. There are 300 cartons prepared," he said.

He admitted that he did not know whether he would provide the cheap cooking oil again tomorrow. "I don't know, usually every day. But I'm not sure I'll be there tomorrow either," he said.
