632 Migrant Workers From Malaysia Undergo COVID-19 Quarantine In Batam

BATAM - A total of 632 Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) who recently arrived from Malaysia are undergoing COVID-19 quarantine in Batam City, Riau Islands, according to health protocol rules.

Head of Batam City Health Office Didi Kusmarjadi said that of the 632 people undergoing quarantine, as many as 157 people in BP Batam Flats, 244 people in Batam City Government Flats, 97 people in Putra Jaya Flats, and 134 others underwent self-quarantine.

"Independent quarantine at a hotel appointed by the TNI," said Didi Kusmarjadi in Batam as reported by Antara, Saturday, March 5.

According to regulations, PMI arriving in Batam must undergo a COVID-19 test. If the result is negative, then you must undergo quarantine before continuing your journey to the destination.

However, if the results are positive, then they must get treatment at the Galang Island Hospital.

"Now there are 234 PMIs being treated at the Galang Island Hospital," he said.

With the increasing number of positive COVID-19 PMIs being treated at the Galang Island Hospital, now Batam residents who are also confirmed to have been exposed to the Corona Virus must receive treatment from another hospital.

Meanwhile, in addition to PMI, his party also recorded as many as 64 foreigners who underwent COVID-19 quarantine in Batam, upon arrival from Malaysia or Singapore. All of them are undergoing self-quarantine in hotels that have been appointed by the Task Force.
