JAKARTA - Schools in Pati Regency, Central Java, are again holding limited face-to-face learning (PTM) starting Monday, March 7th. The local government has issued a permit after the PTM was terminated due to cases found in its activities in February 2022.

"Starting Monday, the implementation of PTM in educational units is allowed to reopen in a limited and gradual manner by 50 percent of the student's capacity, while others learn online," said Regent Haryanto in Pati, Saturday, March 5, as reported by Antara.

Haryanto said the decision was made based on the students' needs for learning activities. He added that the number of cases among students, teachers, and the public who were confirmed to be COVID-19 in Pati Regency had also decreased.

Another consideration, said Haryanto, is related to the temporary evaluation of SE number 440/426 regarding the temporary suspension of face-to-face learning in all schools on February 11, 2022.

He revealed that the overall PTM was limited to all school levels, from elementary, junior high to high school and equivalent levels.

Through a new circular, Haryanto also prohibits the implementation of school tours in any form. "If there is an increase in cases from students, teachers, educators and the community, face-to-face learning will be reviewed," he said.
