Police Arrest A Gang Of Robbers Who Stole Rp140 Million From An Electronics Store In Depok

JAKARTA - The police arrested a gang of robbers who robbed an electronics store in the Pancoran Mas area, Depok. The proceeds of this gang's crime reached Rp140 million.

"Five perpetrators have been arrested," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes E. Zulpan to reporters, Friday, March 4.

The suspects had the initials JS, WJ, MS, D, and RS. They have different roles.

"JS's role is the captain entering the house and threatening the victim. Then MS plays the role of entering the house, threatening the victim," said Zulpan.

"Then WJ played the role of supervising around the location and the hospital providing transportation and monitoring the situation," he continued.

The suspects were arrested at different locations by the Sub-Directorate Resmob team of the Metro Jaya Police under the leadership of AKBP Handik Zusen, Kompol Widi Irawan, Kompol Rulian Syauri, and AKP Dimitri Mahendra.

This robbery, said Zulpan, occurred on Tuesday, March 3 at around 03.00 WIB. Where, the perpetrators did target FW's electronic shop as a target.

"Incidentally, there were several employees at the shop where the employees were threatened. Then they tied the victim with a sarong that was torn off and made into a rope," said Zulpan.

The perpetrators also arrested the store employees. Then, they threatened FW and his wife to show them the location where the money was kept.

"The shop owner's wife was afraid to show her safe and the money worth Rp. 140 million in the safe was immediately taken by the suspect," said Zulpan.

In fact, to eliminate traces of the perpetrators took all the cellphones belonging to the victim. Then, they immediately ran away.

"After that, they fled in a vehicle that was prepared by them to go down and run. They shared the proceeds of their crime. They shared Rp. 140 million, threw their cellphones into the river," said Zulpan.

From the suspect's hands, various evidences of crowbars, rencong, keys, 3 ghsock watches, 1 car, and Rp 40 million in cash were left from the crime.

With the arrest of the suspects, they were charged with Article 365 paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code. Thus, the sentence is 12 years in prison.
