OKU South Sumatra Police Investigate Case Of Hoarding 4 Tons Of Cooking Oil

BATURAJA - The Ogan Komering Ulu Resort Police, South Sumatra is still investigating the case of hoarding 4 tons of cooking oil which was found in a house on Jalan Rajawali II, Sekar Jaya Village, East Baturaja District.

"We are still investigating this case to reveal the suspect," said Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) Police Chief, AKBP Danu Agus Purnomo in Baturaja, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, March 1.

He said, although in this case the police have arrested the perpetrator with the initials AA (36), but his party has not named a suspect because they are still collecting evidence in the field.

He said that so far, six witnesses had been examined, including the owner of the house, but the evidence was not sufficient to ensnare the perpetrator as the main suspect.

"We don't know yet whether there is a violation or not in this case. When it is revealed, we will inform the public," he said.

In this case, the police secured evidence as many as 210 jerry cans containing Sovia brand cooking oil with an amount of almost 4 tons which was allegedly supplied from the city of Palembang.

To uncover the case, he said, his party formed a team involving the South Sumatra Regional Police to reveal the main actors, including the distributor of cooking oil suppliers to OKU Regency.

"The OKU Police Investigation Team is coordinating with the South Sumatra Provincial Trade Office and the South Sumatra Police's Criminal Investigation Unit to explore information from cooking oil distributors," he said.
