Bringing 'Stop War' Posters, Hundreds Of Ukrainians In Bali Come To Consulate Office Asking For The Russian Invasion To Stop

DENPASAR - Hundreds of Foreign Citizens (WNA) from Ukraine in Bali came to the Ukrainian Consulate Office in South Denpasar.

They also carried a Ukrainian flag, as well as posters that read, “Stop War” and “Love Peace, Save Ukraine,” and “Pray For Ukraine.” The crowd sang the Ukrainian national anthem and then met with the Honorary Consul of Ukraine for Bali, I Nyoman Astama.

Astama said the arrival of the Ukrainians was a form of their solidarity with their country so that there would be no war.

"They show solidarity with their country and their brothers and sisters that they don't want war. They love peace. Maybe it's the same, if our country experiences war, we are not there, what can we do, at least provide moral support," Astama said, Tuesday, March 1st.

In addition, Ukrainian citizens also provide moral support to their families who are still in Ukraine and hope that this support reaches Ukraine and Russia as well.

"We hope this message reaches their leaders. So, yes, we hope there will be negotiations that find a common ground that finds peace. That is our hope," he added.

Astama also said that citizens from Ukraine came to the Consul of Ukraine, because in other places it was not allowed to hold peaceful demonstrations.

"They are in our place to convey to the outside world in this case of course Ukraine and Russia to stop the war and achieve peace," he said.

"Because the impact of war is very hard and there are many. Such as humanity, infrastructure and not to mention psychology and no less important, it has an impact on the economy. As we see now, banning each other from flying so this is a very big impact for them," he explained. Astama.

According to him, currently there are 3,200 citizens from Ukraine in Bali.

"Ukrainian residents in Bali are more than 3,200 than the (data) of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights in Bali. Hopefully this will end so that things can return to normal. While they cannot withdraw money, once the cyber attack war is reported like that, there are already those who cannot withdraw our (money) I hope it doesn't last long," said Astama.
