Still Low, Banda Aceh Health Office Boosts COVID Vaccinations For Children And The Elderly

BANDA ACEH - Head of the Banda Aceh City Health Service (Dinkes) Lukman stated, his party continues to boost COVID-19 vaccinations for children and the elderly (elderly) because the achievement for this category is still quite low.

"We are still pushing for COVID-19 vaccinations, especially for children and the elderly, which to date have not been sufficient," said Lukman in Banda Aceh, Antara, Thursday, February 24.

Lukman said that the overall vaccination in Banda Aceh had exceeded the set target, however, the process was still ongoing until all people were vaccinated.

"For the whole, it is sufficient to reach 112.48% of the first vaccine, but children and the elderly are still low, and we continue to run this every day," he said.

Lukman said, the vaccination achievements of all categories in Banda Aceh to date have reached 214,029 people for the first dose or 112.48 percent and 149,900 for the second dose or 78.77 percent of the total target of 190,289 people.​​​​​​

The highest achievement of vaccination in Banda Aceh was the general and vulnerable groups of 123,503 for the first dose and 83,942 for the second dose from the target of 119,029 people.

Then, 38,113 public officers took the first dose and 33,592 the second dose from the target of 26,390 people. Then for Health Human Resources 7,950 the first dose and 7,472 the second dose from the target of 6,334 health workers.

Furthermore, Lukman added, the 12-17 year olds have reached 25,802 for the first dose and 18,294 for the second dose, also exceeding the target set at 25,043 people.

"It's still low for the elderly and children, namely the elderly only reaching 8,278 doses for the first and 5,830 doses for the second target of 13,493. Meanwhile, for children, 10,223 were given the first dose and 673 doses for the second from the target of 28,593 children," said Lukman.

On this occasion, Lukman also said that although the overall target had exceeded the target, his party was still intensifying vaccination, and proceeding to stage three (booster).

"We are still doing the booster vaccination, what's more, there will also be a fourth vaccination," said Lukman.
