Kiai And Ulama Receive Strengthening Vaccination, MUI Bogor: This Is An Effort To End The Pandemic

BOGOR - The Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) Bogor Regency, West Java held a booster vaccination for kiai and ulama at the MUI office in Cibinong, Bogor today.

"We must make efforts to end the pandemic, this third vaccine is injected to avoid exposure to COVID-19," said Bogor Regency MUI General Chair KH Ahmad Mukri Aji after being injected with the vaccine, Antara, Thursday, February 24.

He mentioned that kiai and clerics in Bogor Regency must be an example so that the community is enthusiastic about the success of the vaccination program implemented by the Bogor Regency COVID-19 Handling Task Force.

"We have agreed with the kiai of the Bogor Regency, agreed that the COVID-19 pandemic is not a hoax, but it is true," said KH Mukri.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Bogor Regency MUI Education Division, Saepudin Muhtar alias Gus Udin, said that his party was continuing to provide guidance to ulama figures and their members at the village level regarding awareness of COVID-19 vaccination.

"We are conducting coaching in 40 sub-districts involving religious scholars and village MUIs," said Gus Udin.

The Deputy Chairperson of the Nahdlatul Ulama (PCNU) Branch of Bogor Regency said that currently his party is intensively providing education about the halalness and safety of the COVID-19 vaccine.

He said this MUI step was one of the efforts in handling COVID-19 in Bogor Regency. His efforts began with the launch of the MUI mass vaccination at the Pondok Pesantren Darussalam Ciomas, Bogor, on Thursday, September 23, 2021.

"We are helping to accelerate vaccination in Bogor Regency as an effort to protect the soul and health of the people from exposure to the COVID-19 virus," said Gus Udin.
