Reckless Public Transportation, Mother Of Two Children Killed In A Collision On Jalan Tipar Cakung

JAKARTA - A female motorcyclist with the initials S (40) was found dead on Jalan Tipar Cakung, East Jakarta, Thursday, February 24. East Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Head AKBP Edy Surasa said the victim died after being hit by a city transportation car (angkot).

"We focus on (handling) the victim. The victim is a woman, 40 years old, with two children," said AKBP Edy Surasa when confirmed, Thursday, February 24, afternoon.

Edy also said that the angkot was traveling from Semper to Cakung. Meanwhile, the motorbike driven by the victim came in the opposite direction from Cakung to Semper.

"As soon as it was right on the high bridge, West Cakung, the angkot was about to overtake. Suddenly a motorbike appeared, that's where the collision occurred. The accident happened there," explained Edy.

According to witnesses, the victim bounced and died on the spot with several injuries.

"(the street) There is no dividing (border) the way. (victim) Alone, wounds on the head, some bodies are also there," added Edy.

Meanwhile, the East Jakarta Metro Police Satlantas Police have summoned the victim's family.

"Yes, we are focusing on the victim first. We have to call his family first. We take care of insurance, his compensation and so on. The body (of the victim) was taken to the hospital," he said.

Meanwhile, the Police are still asking for information from a number of eyewitnesses related to the incident at the East Jakarta Traffic Unit.

"Everyone, the witnesses will be taken testimony," he said.
