JAKARTA - A health worker (Nakes) at the Wisma Atlet Kemayoran Covid Emergency Hospital (RSDC), named Tiur Octavia, is said to have died due to suffering from a lung infection.

Tiur, who served as a nurse, had received treatment at the Friendship Hospital, East Jakarta. However, he died on Wednesday, February 23, yesterday, at around 04.00 WIB at the Friendship Hospital.

The Public Relations Coordinator of the Kemayoran Athlete Hospital, Col. Dr. Mintoro Sumego, said that Tiur Octavia's death had nothing to do with the positive COVID-19 he had experienced.

"So indeed he has a history of lung disorders. Lung infections have nothing to do with him being positive for COVID-19," Mintoro told reporters, Thursday, February 24.

Previously, Tiur Octavia was reported to have been exposed to COVID-19 on January 24, 2022. Then he underwent isolation and was declared cured one week later.

After being declared cured of COVID-19, Tiur Octavia experienced a respiratory illness so he was referred to the East Jakarta Friendship Hospital for treatment.

"He had a respiratory problem, then he went back to the Persahabatan Hospital on February 15, 2022," he said.

Mintoro said that currently Tiur Octavia's body had been brought to his hometown for burial.

"The deceased was buried in Lampung," he said.

As is known, Tiur Octavia has served as a nurse in the intensive care unit (ICU) since July 2020. She died after previously receiving treatment at the Persahabatan Hospital, East Jakarta.
