Contractor's Recognition: There Is A Formula E Circuit Construction Zone That Is Difficult To Work On Due To Soft Soil

JAKARTA - PT Jaya Konstruksi as the contractor for the construction of the Formula E circuit in the Ancol area, North Jakarta, is currently working on it.

The person in charge of Formula E construction from PT Jaya Konstruksi, Ari Wibowo admits that there are zones where the land is difficult to cultivate because the soil structure is quite wet and soft.

Circuit work is divided into 5 zones. The zone that Ari is referring to is zone 5. This zone is located on the easternmost side of the Ancol area. To make things even more difficult, this zone covers 40 percent of the total circuit length.

"As much as 40 percent of this work is in zone 5. So, zone 5 is the most difficult, draining energy and concentration the most. The zone that stands on soft ground is the most problematic," Ari said on Wednesday, February 23.

As is known, this zone previously had the attention of Commission B of the DKI DPRD when directly observing the location before the start of construction.

On Wednesday, December 29, 2021, Secretary of Commission B of the DKI DPRD, Pandapotan Sinaga, doubted that the location designated as zone 5 could produce adequate circuit quality.

According to him, the location of the Formula E circuit is a former mud disposal area. Thus, the soil structure is soft and has the potential for flooding.

"I know this is a former mud dump. River dredging, MRT construction, dumping the mud here. This used to be a swamp that was backfilled. This used to be a flood," said Pandapotan, some time ago.

Zone 5 was also reviewed by PSI General Chair Giring Ganesha on Wednesday, January 5. Dilat in the video that he recorded himself, shows himself on a stretch of vacant land that will be used as the circuit for the electric car racing event.

"It's crazy that this is a Formula E project, isn't it. A very ambitious project. A big budget, using public money, and very short preparation time. I'm not sure that this circuit construction could happen. If it happened, it would have been forced. Shame on the name of Indonesia, in the eyes of the international community," said Giring at the time.

The source of the funds for this project is from PT Jakarta Propertindo's company money of around Rp. 50 billion.

The shape of the Formula E track is said to be similar to a lumping horse. Then, the location of the Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit has 18 bends, 600 meters of straight track, clockwise direction, and 2.4 kilometers of track length. E.
