Pariaman City Government And Synergy Residents Open 40 Km New Road Without APBD

SUMBAR - The City Government (Pemkot) of Pariaman, West Sumatra (West Sumatra) collaborated with local residents to open a new 40-kilometer road in the last six months. The hard work of the residents and the City Government is without using APBD funds.

“In these six months, Pariaman City Government has opened many new roads. There are at least 15 roads built with a mutual cooperation pattern," said Pariaman Mayor Genius Umar during a meeting with the West Sumatra Provincial Government (Pemprov) via video from Pariaman, Antara, Wednesday, February 23.

He said the land for the road construction was donated by local residents so that mobility in the area would be smoother and open up opportunities for improving the community's economy in the fields of agriculture, trade, and tourism.

Funds for the implementation of the road opening were obtained independently from officials, government officials, as well as from business entities, as well as other parties in Pariaman City.

However, at this time the condition of the road has not yet been hardened and paved due to budget constraints, so the Pariaman City Government has asked the West Sumatra Provincial Government and the central government to help.

"If possible this year the West Sumatra Provincial Government will carry out the paving of the new road, after that this road will be registered as a city road to get the Special Allocation Fund (DAK) for next year," he said.

According to him, with the opening and paving, the price of local agricultural products can be more expensive and government programs will be easier to run because the location is easily accessible.

"In addition, it can strengthen Pariaman as a tourist city and accelerate economic growth. Pariaman City's economic growth will also determine the growth of West Sumatra Province," he said.

The 15 road sections that have been opened by the Pariaman City Government together with local residents are the Sunur-Kuraitaji water front area, Talang Kuning-Talang Saga Cubadak Air, Talang Kuning Village Attitude, and Mangguang-Padang Biriak-Biriak.

Furthermore, the Rambai River ring road, Sungai Rambai-Cubadak Air Utara road, Railway Village road, Taratak Village road, Tungkal Utara road, and Tanjung Sabar-Kampung Gadang road.

The Lapai Ikua Kampuang section, the Ampalu-Simpang Apar section, the PKTD SMP 6 road in Kampung Gadang Village, the Simpang Lawega road in Kampung Gadang Village and the MAN Road in Kampung Gadang.
