JAKARTA - The Office of the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) Ketapang, West Kalimantan is ready to follow up on a circular letter from the Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas which regulates loudspeakers for mosques and prayer rooms by conducting socialization through religious counselors.

"We have religious instructors who will function to socialize the ministry's circular, we hope it will be widespread and known to the general public," said Head of the Ketapang Ministry of Religion Ikhwan Pohan, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, February 22.

Socialization related to the Minister of Religion circular will first be carried out within the Ketapang Ministry of Religion internal circles. Just continued up to the ranks of the extension staff.

According to him, not only religious instructors, but he will order the head of the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA) to immediately disseminate information to the public.

"We will also convey to the administrators of houses of worship in Ketapang," said Pohan.

Pohan said, in conveying the socialization related to the rules relating to the use of loudspeakers in mosques and prayer rooms, it is necessary to approach and provide understanding to the public.

Pohan emphasized that the circular is of course for all religious people, especially Muslims because one of them is broadcasting Islam through mosques and surau using loudspeakers. That's why the loudspeaker certainly needs to be adjusted.

Moreover, the people in Ketapang are very diverse in ethnicity, religion, race and so on. So to increase the sense of brotherhood and tolerance in order to create an atmosphere that remains harmonious. Especially in the religious life in Ketapang, which is very diverse, the Ministry of Religion issues this circular.

"The circular does not reduce the broadcast of Islam but will become more orderly and directed. So this is very good because it creates a strong brotherhood and an atmosphere of harmonization is getting closer. Because non-Muslims also need to pay attention so they are not disturbed by the use of loudspeakers in mosques or surau ," he said.

He added that related to this circular letter, for the sake of public order and peace. His party plans to collaborate with the Regional Government (Pemda) and even other agencies such as the police to follow up on the circular letter.

The hope is that they will be able to provide a complete understanding of the contents of this circular letter and that all elements of society can know and understand it.

"The pros and cons of the circular can happen. So we plan to collaborate with the local government and other agencies to help provide understanding to the community," said Pohan.

Pohan also believes that the circular will not have much effect on the very conducive situation and condition of Ketapang. Moreover, the Ketapang area has long been known to be a very conducive area.

"As the head of the Ketapang Ministry of Religion, I urge the entire community to take care of each other, and carry out worship according to the teachings of their respective religions," he said.

If all apply the concepts of their religious teachings, said Pohan, then Ketapang will remain conducive. Because all of them teach to live side by side, harmonious and have a sense of brotherhood among each other.

"So I hope the public will welcome and support the circular, don't question it," asked Pohan.
