BANDUNG - Police have arrested three perpetrators who are suspected of beating their friend, BR, at a cafe in Padalarang, West Bandung. They have the initials HS (19), AR (20), and GN (24).

The Head of Public Relations of the West Java Police, Kombes Pol. Ibrahim Tompo, said that the incident occurred on Sunday, February 20, at 03.00 WIB.

The incident started when the victim and her friend were hanging out. When he saw that his friend was fighting, BR tried to intervene.

After that, his friend and the perpetrator dispersed and the victim went back to hanging out with his friends. Not long after, the perpetrator and his friend came and beat the victim along with another friend.

“They are friends, and one of them uploaded content on his WhatsApp with comments that his colleagues didn't like. Then they were searched, because they did not accept it, a fight broke out,” Ibrahim told reporters at the Cimahi Police, Monday, February 21.

Ibrahim explained that there were actually five people involved in the incident. However, only three people did the beatings.

"Only three people beat them, so the police have named three suspects," Ibrahim concluded.

For his actions, the three suspects were charged with Article 170 of the Criminal Code regarding the crime of openly beating with a penalty of 5 years in prison.
