Inaugurate 55 New KPK Prosecutors, Firli Bahuri: Work Professionally Without Indiscriminate

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri asked 55 new prosecutors in his institution to work optimally and not indiscriminately.

This was conveyed during the inauguration of 55 new prosecutors today, Monday, February 21. In his remarks, Firli asked dozens of his newly joined subordinates to work professionally.

"Work professionally indiscriminately," said Firli, quoted from the Indonesian KPK's YouTube show.

He said that all the work of the KPK must be based on sufficient evidence. According to Firli, no one person can be named as a suspect in the alleged corruption because of an intentional error.

"Work based on sufficient evidence and adequacy of evidence, not looking for mistakes. But, prove your mistakes with complete evidence because the principle of the KPK works indiscriminately," said the former Deputy for Enforcement of the KPK.

Furthermore, Firli also reminded his subordinates to work and devote themselves to a corruption-free Indonesia. They are asked to uphold the oath of office and the main principles of the KPK in carrying out each of their duties.

"Keep improving your abilities and professionalism and try to become a successful human being, not only a successful human being, but a human being to become a useful human being," he said.

As previously reported, there were actually 61 prosecutors who had passed the selection to join the KPK. However, they have been accepted and appointed as prosecutors in a special unit at the Attorney General's Office.

Meanwhile, the 55 prosecutors who were inaugurated today are confirmed to have undergone the recruitment and selection process as KPK employees.

"This inauguration has gone through a recruitment and selection process as KPK employees according to the needs and competency standards to carry out their duties later," said Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement, Ali Fikri in a written statement, Monday, February 21.
