JAKARTA - A porridge maker named Sita Tri Utami can finally breathe a sigh of relief after her complaint on social media addressed to the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, came true. Where, the motor that had been pawned finally returned.

This case began when Sita Tri Utami pawned her Honda PCX motorbike to someone named Nur for Rp. 6 million, on July 7, 2020. However, when it was about to be redeemed, Nur's whereabouts were difficult to find. In fact, just to communicate is difficult.

"The victim pawned the motorbike to someone from Nur. Then the victim got Rp. 6 million from the proceeds from the pawn," said Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes E. Zulpan to reporters, Monday, February 21.

With the reasons for this difficulty, Sita also coordinated with the East Jakarta Police. Where, the individual member of the Police introduced Sita to someone with the initials MR who was said to be able to help her.

Over time, Sita never got a bright spot. Instead, it was MR who was said to be able to help him ask for Rp. 18 million as ransom. However, at that time Sita could only hand over Rp15 million.

"After the victim handed over Rp15 million, the motorbike could be taken from the suspect Nur. However, in the continuation the motorbike was not handed over to the victim but remains under the suspect's ownership," said Zulpan.

Until finally, Sita reported the matter to the Bekasi Metro Police. In the process MR and Nur were immediately arrested.

"The Bekasi Metro Police are taking law enforcement steps in this case by arresting and assigning suspects to the perpetrators," said Zulpan.

With the arrests, the two suspects were also charged with Articles 372 and 378 of the Criminal Code concerning fraud and embezzlement. They face up to 4 years in prison.
