Bima Arya Says Jakarta PSBB Isn't Clear, Anies: We Never Asked To Be Followed

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan, emphasized that he doesn't have the authority to request or enforce the implementation of Strict Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) in other areas.

Anies Baswedan conveyed this statement, in response to several regional heads who still questioned the effectiveness of PSBB in Jakarta.

"There is no authority from DKI to impose our regulations on other places," Anies said at his office, Jakarta, Friday, September 11.

According to him, PSBB is the authority of each region. So, he never asked other regional heads to do the same thing as Jakarta.

"It is the authority of each region," said Anies.

As for the Mayor of Bogor, Bima Arya previously said that Jakarta's Strict PSBB is not clear. So, he asked Anies Baswedan to coordinate with the central government regarding his decision.

Bima conveyed this statement after conducting a coordination meeting between regional heads, including Anies Baswedan. According to Bima, there isn't any decision from the meeting. Including the possibility that the capital buffer areas would follow similar steps by implementing the PSBB.

The heads of regions throughout Jabodetabek agreed to demand Anies to coordinate with the central government to perfect the concept and formulation of the PSBB. 

West Java and Banten Governor, Ridwan Kamil and Wahidin Halim, also attended the meeting.
