Proficient In Social Media, Putting Language And Culture First

​JAKARTA - On Thursday, February 17, Bakti Kominfo and DPR RI held a live streaming seminar with the theme "Cakap on Social Media". This seminar was filled by several speakers and presenters.

The event began with remarks from Ir. Alimin Abdullah as Member of Commission I DPR RI who expressed his hope that participants will understand properly about ethics in social media by prioritizing language and culture morals.

Then continued by the first speaker, Gun Gun Siswandi as an Academician of Esal Unggul University Jakarta, who shared his experiences and lessons on how to use social media wisely.

"Social media is already inherent and becomes the main need for every community, but the use of social media should be more utilized for self-potential development (seeking learning, doing business, or establishing relationships), so that the policy of using social media depends on each individual how to use social media," Gun Gun said.

Followed by the second speaker, namely Muktiar SE.I., MM as a communication practitioner for communication lecturer Kahfi BBC Motivator who also shared experiences and lessons about skills and ethics in using social media properly and correctly.

"In social media, it is necessary to understand correctly whether what is conveyed is a hoax or not so that it is not easily provoked, is wiser in receiving information, does not get caught up in social media crimes and does not bring down other people," said Muktiar.

"Utilizing social media is useful for adding insight and information for self-development and unity, so be careful and intelligent in responding to information that will be disseminated or received," concluded Mutiar.
