Blitar KPU Office Terrorized By Setaman Flowers And Paper Dolls, Sent Santet?

JAKARTA - The Office of the General Election Commission (KPU) in Blitar City, East Java, was sent flowers and dolls made of paper pierced by needles with threads on them, which disturbed the psychology of all employees working in the KPU office, including the commissioners.

Blitar KPU chairman Choirul Umam said the KPU had consulted the police regarding these findings.

"So, we are still consulting. We have burnt the evidence because we are afraid. We only convey the chronology and show the evidence and the video," said Umam when met at Mapolresta Blitar, reported by Antara, Friday, September 11.

He said that the finding of the object was found in the courtyard of the KPU office in Blitar City, on Tuesday, September 8 in the morning, around 01.00 WIB by a driver at the KPU. There are setaman flowers wrapped in banana leaves. Next to him was a paper doll pierced with needles and threads. The findings were immediately reported and burned. Previously, this evidence had been immortalized in the form of photos and videos.

Umam said, these findings are very disturbing psychologically for all employees and the Commissioner of the KPU Kota Blitar who are currently working to prepare the election.

For that, he and all the commissioners consulted the investigators at the Blitar Police. He hopes that there will be input from law enforcement officials, so that all commissioners and officers in the KPU can do their job well.

His party has also asked officers at the KPU to check the footage on surveillance cameras, but it is still not known whether the person who sent the terror was caught on camera footage or not.

"There is CCTV, we do not yet know whether it can capture (images) of throwing or putting down. This is psychologically disturbing, but we do not accuse anyone. If there is a dispute it is legally proven. A dispute in Bawaslu, even if the decision is to re-verify, we are do, "he said.

Even though the terror occurred, all KPU commissioners in Blitar City also continued to carry out their duties to prepare for the regional head elections. Currently, the KPU is still waiting for the results of medical tests on prospective pairs of candidates from Malang's Dr. Saiful Anwar Hospital (RSSA).

According to the schedule, the results of the medical tests will come out on Friday, September 11 afternoon and will be taken directly by the Commissioner of the KPU in Blitar City. Later, the KPU will get two files. The results of the medical test are a requirement for the candidate pair to the next stage.

The KPU of Blitar City has received the registration of two candidate pairs in the 2020 simultaneous regional elections. The first pair who have registered are the candidate pair for Mayor of Santoso and Deputy Mayor of Blitar, Tjutjuk Sunario, the second is Henry Pradipta Anwar and Yasin Hermanto.
