JAKARTA - The process of revitalizing sidewalks by the DKI Provincial Government in the Old City area of West Jakarta has been hampered. The problem is the weather like erratic rain.

"There will be problems with the weather, but later at certain moments, there will be an increase in construction capacity," said the Sub-Coordinator for Development and Improvement of Road Completeness at the DKI Jakarta Provincial Highways Service, Sigit Widodo, in Jakarta, Friday, February 18, as reported by Antara.

Sigit said that the increase in the intensity of the work was deemed necessary to pursue several repair points that were delayed due to the rain.

He gave an example of pavement construction on Jalan Lada Hitam, Kota Tua, West Jakarta. At that point, he made sure the contractor did the work for 24 hours.

"In the Lada Dalam section, the priority is the contractor and the contractor is planning to carry out a 'full' 24-hour work," he said.

Not only that, his party will also coordinate with the Department of Transportation and the local Polsek to anticipate traffic being disrupted due to pavement revitalization.

He hopes that the pavement revitalization work can be completed by the deadline, namely July 2022.

Previously, Sigit said that the sidewalk work at the two points had been running since December 2021. Currently, the contractor is still working on it.

Sigit explained that the sidewalk revitalization does not use the DKI Jakarta Regional Budget (APBD) but uses an Approval Letter for Designating a Location or Land Use (SP3L).
