SURABAYA - Deputy Mayor of Surabaya Armuji said that in the Kota Pahlawan market, East Java, it is still difficult to find bulk cooking oil according to the Highest Retail Price (HET) of Rp 11,500/liter as set by the government.

"Besides that, we are also still getting complaints of stock shortages in the field," said Deputy Mayor (Wawali) Armuji while accompanying the Minister of Trade (Mendag) Muhammad Lutfi during a visit to Tambakrejo Market, Surabaya City, quoted by Antara, Friday, February 18.

According to Armuji, the fixed price for bulk cooking oil according to HET is IDR 11,500 per liter, simple packaged cooking oil IDR 13,500 per liter, and premium packaged cooking oil IDR 14,000 per liter.

For this reason, Armuji appreciates the Minister of Trade Muhammad Lutfi who went directly to the Tambakrejo Market in Surabaya to monitor the availability of cooking oil stocks ahead of Ramadan and Eid 2022.

"Cooking oil is a concern, especially ahead of Ramadan and Eid this year," he said.

According to him, currently the Surabaya City Cooperative, SME and Trade Office routinely conducts market operations in a number of locations to ensure the availability of food stocks, especially cooking oil, in the market.

Meanwhile, the Trade Minister Muhamamd Lutfi asked distributors to supply bulk cooking oil to the people's market in Surabaya according to the HET of Rp 11,500/liter. He asked distributors to follow the regulations set by the government.

It will take strict action against distributors who do not follow the rules.
