JAKARTA - PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) BUMD is currently speeding up the construction of the Formula E Track in Ancol, North Jakarta, with a target of completion in April 2022.
"We are working on the track. Currently it is in the initial phase, with soil hardening," said Director of Asset Management of PT Jakpro as well as Vice Managing Director of Formula E Gunung Kartiko in Jakarta, Wednesday, February 16, as reported by Antara.
Mount explained that the soft soil at the location of the circuit must be hardened first and then joined by several circuit track-making techniques.
"There are special techniques that are carried out so that before we give the soil base A, base B, before we give the material, we give asphalt, that's good," he said.
Gunung himself believes that the work on the Formula E circuit can be completed on time, namely April 2022.
"April can actually be completed, then when the track is complete we have to prepare the supporters, namely to install a barrier and that's enough time to race in June 2022," he said.
Previously, Jakpro planned to showcase the Jakarta E-Prix circuit in the near future.

Gunung explained that the process of working on the Formula E circuit with the standard technical specifications of the International Automotive Federation (FIA) grade 1 can be done on time.
Gunung is quite optimistic that the circuit will be completed on time because the track for Formula E is shorter than the track for Formula 1 and Moto GP.
