When The Prosecutor Thought Jerinx Was Looking For Attention Through The Post 'IDI Kacung WHO' With 56,958 Comments

DENPASAR - Two posts on the @jrxsid Instagram account brought Jerinx face to face with charges of spreading hatred against the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI). The owner of the real name I Gede Ari Astina is considered by the prosecutor to deliberately seek attention on social media to cause seeds of hatred against IDI through his posts.

"The defendant deliberately made a post because the defendant knew that the post would get public attention and was busy on mass media or social media and received various comments," said the prosecutor reading the indictment in an online trial broadcast via Youtube at the Denpasar District Court, Thursday, September 10.

In the indictment, the prosecutor reviewed this post of the drummer for SID. Starting from re-reading Jerinx's uploaded sentence, to mentioning the details of the number of likes and comments from Nora Alexandra's husband's post.

“Because they are proud to be WHO lackeys, IDI and the hospital arbitrarily oblige all people who are going to give birth to be tested for CV19. There is already a lot of evidence that the test results are often inconsequential, why do you force them? If the test results cause stress and cause the death of the baby / mother, who is responsible, ”said the prosecutor reading Jerinx's post on June 13.

The prosecutor also read out the caption in the post. Then read a number of comments that appear on the @jrxsid account.

"Disband IDI, I will not stop attacking you. The defendant included a pig emoticon, ”said the prosecutor.

Some of the comments from the Instagram account regarding Jerinx's post read by the prosecutor included talking about the rapid test for IDR 425,000, 'we are being pitted against the doctor' including comments containing 'please continue to monitor this account, he spreads hatred' from the account called the prosecutor owned by Budi Doremi .

"That posts from the @jrxsid account on June 13 received 3394 likes, 56,958 comments as of July 29, 2020," said the prosecutor.

While in the second post, Jerinx also talked about conspiracies related to COVID-19. Jerinx in his post on June 15, 2020, said that there was a dramatization of the death of a doctor who was considered by Jerinx to create excessive fear in the community.

"That account posts received 2532 likes and 41,189 comments as of July 29, 2020," said the prosecutor.

This post triggered the Chairman of IDI Bali to report Jerinx to the Bali Police. The prosecutor considered that Jerinx's post had a big influence because Jerinx was considered a public figure.

"Because the defendant is a public figure as a member of the band SID, which has quite a number of fans spread across Indonesia and even abroad. As a result of the defendant's act of making posts on Instagram social media in the form of images or writing with a hatred, hostility or insult or defamation against IDI so that IDI feels insulted and hated by some Indonesian people and is harmed by the posting of this status, "said the prosecutor.

Jerinx was charged with Article 28 paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 45 paragraph 2 of the Information and Electronic Transaction Law (ITE) and the second alternative charge, namely Article 27 paragraph 3 in conjunction with Article 45 paragraph 3 of the ITE Law. Jerinx and his attorneys did not listen to the reading of the indictment because they chose to leave the room after the trial was held online.

The trial was suspended to allow Jerinx to respond to the indictment. But Jerinx refused to return to the room at the Bali Police.

Finally, the presiding judge Adyana Dewi ordered the public prosecutor to present Jerinx to a follow-up hearing. Jerinx emphasized that the judge must attend this online trial.

"So the panel ordered the public prosecutor to bring the defendant back to the next trial, Tuesday, September 22 at 10 am," said Adyana then tapped the hammer ending the first trial.
