Solo Ready To Become A Smart City Pilot Project In Indonesia

SOLO - The Surakarta City Police, Central Java, has prepared by implementing an all-digital integrated system service through the "Solo Smart City" program which is a pilot project for other regions in Indonesia.

The Head of Traffic for the Surakarta Police, Kompol Adhytiawarman Gautama Putra, said his party had coordinated with other Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD). Because, this system is integrated between the services of both the Resort Police and the Surakarta City Government.

According to the Traffic Head, the inauguration of the launching of the Solo Smart City program is planned to be carried out by the National Police Chief Gen. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, in Solo, on Friday, February 18.

Head of Traffic said the application would be given the name "Eling Solo". The public can download the application for free. The application will also be integrated with the Solo Destinasi application belonging to the Surakarta City Government.

According to him, the application is actually a program from the Traffic Corps (Korlantas) of the Police Headquarters. Solo itself was appointed as a pilot project because the central assessment already has good cross-sectoral coordination.

He said the idea had been launched for the past year. From concept discussion to maturation. Because, as a pilot project, it is certainly a matter of pride.

"We both from the Surakarta Police and the City Government will carry out this task as much as possible," he said, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, February 16.

Touching on the problems faced by the Solo Smart City program, he said, from the results of the trials to the simulations carried out, no significant problems were found.

"Our network is adequate and human resources (HR) from both the Polres and the Surakarta City Government are qualified. This application will make it easier for people who want to get services. Be it the police or the City Government," he said.

He said the Smart City program is a combination of the work of several interested parties through applications that are made. From the police, for example, it can be about security, order and society, including security, safety, order and smooth traffic.

"We have added four more 'Closed Circuit Television' (CCTV) points which will monitor the city of Solo for 24 hours to support Solo Smart City services.

Therefore, his party hopes that with the installation of CCTV in every corner of the city of Solo, if there are disturbances related to security, safety, order and smooth traffic (Kamseltibcarlantas), the officers can immediately handle it quickly and precisely.
