Tens Of Kilograms Of Methamphetamine Destroyed By BNN West Kalimantan Worth IDR 11.5 Billion

JAKARTA - The West Kalimantan National Narcotics Agency (BNN) destroyed 32.95 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine worth Rp. 11.55 billion with an incinerator machine.

"Today we destroyed 32.95 kilograms of evidence from the disclosure some time ago with suspect AA," said Head of the West Kalimantan BNN, Brigadier General (Pol) Budi Wibowo in Pontianak, Tuesday, February 15, quoted from Antara.

He explained that the disclosure of the illicit goods was a collaboration between the West Kalimantan BNN and the West Kalimantan Police and Customs and Excise tracking unit.

"And it is strongly suspected that the methamphetamine came from Malaysia which was entered through the rat route (unofficial route) and then will be sent again outside West Kalimantan," he said.

In revealing the shipment of large quantities of methamphetamine, his party was forced to immobilize the suspect by shooting him in the leg. The reason is that when he was about to be arrested in the North Pontianak District, the suspect tried to run away.

"From the results of our examination, the suspect has repeatedly smuggled the illicit goods from the border and sold them back to inter-provincial networks," he said.

On that occasion, the Head of the West Kalimantan BNN invited the community to jointly eradicate narcotics trafficking to its roots, because it could have an impact on damaging the young generation who are the nation's successors.

"The suspect is currently languishing in the West Kalimantan BNN cell and will face a maximum sentence of up to the death penalty in accordance with the Law on Narcotics Abuse and Illicit Trafficking," he said.
