Garut Regency Government Prepares Beds For COVID-19 Patients In Every Hospital

GARUT - The Government of Garut Regency, West Java has prepared more beds for handling COVID-19 patients in every public hospital in the face of a surge in cases of the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak.

"So we have 425 beds", said Garut Regent Rudy Gunawan, quoted by Antara on Tuesday, February 15.

The Garut Regency Government continues to make various efforts in tackling the transmission of COVID-19, including handling all patients exposed to COVID-19 in Garut to get maximum medical services.

The Garut Regency Government, he said, prepared 150 beds for COVID-19 patients at the Dr. Slamet Garut Hospital, then the Guntur Hospital belonging to the Army with 125 beds, and other Hospitals including the Pameungpeuk Hospital which in total has 425 beds.

He conveyed that the available beds at the Hospital were devoted to the treatment of COVID-19 patients who showed severe symptoms and required intensive medical care, and no one was being treated at the public health center.

"Don't get treated at the public health center if the symptoms are severe, we can't take any risks to people's safety", he said.

Meanwhile, COVID-19 patients who do not show symptoms of illness, he said, are advised to self-isolate at home by isolation standards and receive supervision from local medical officers.

"After carrying out an examination, the Health Center was positive for either antigen or PCR, and was asymptomatic, and was obliged to give medicine", said the Regent.

If the patient's house is not suitable for self-isolation, said Rudy, then it must be taken to a centralized isolation place that has been prepared by the regional government, namely flats, Islamic Center buildings, and hotels.

"In the south (Garut) we have prepared a hotel which yesterday was carried out by the Secretary of the Regional Secretary and Kadinkes, in the north or in the city we have flats, and we have an Islamic Center", he said.
