COVID-19 Update As Of February 15: New Record During The Pandemic, Daily Cases Reached 57.049

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 582.828 specimens were examined with the result that there were 57.049 new positive cases of COVID-19.

The daily number of cases today reached the highest during the pandemic. The previous highest increase in cases was recorded during the surge in the Delta variant on July 15, 2021, which amounted to 56.757 cases.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 4.901.328 and active cases have increased by 30.168 to 406.025 cases," said Ministry of Health data, Tuesday, February 15.

Today's recovered cases increased by 26.747 cases, bringing the total to 4.349.848 recovered people. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 134 people and a total of 145.455 people.

The province with the newest cases was in West Java with 14.058 cases and a total of 855.684 cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta with 9,482 new cases with a total of 1.082.965 cases. East Java with 7.528 new cases and a total of 452.211 cases. Banten with 6.509 new cases and a total of 217.234 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 9.103 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an increase of 5.739 recovered cases, East Java with an additional 3.618 recovered cases, and Banten with an additional 3.350 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 78.438.828.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 16.04 percent," he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 35.594 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

To date, 188.590.685 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 136.647.928 people have received the second dose of vaccination.

While the third dose of vaccination was 7.277.382. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208.265.720 people.
