BNPT Builds Flats In Lamongan To Facilitate Ex-Napiter's Education

JAKARTA - The National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Works and Housing built the Lingkar Peace Foundation (YLP) flat in Tenggulun Village, Solokuro District, Lamongan Regency, East Java to facilitate education for the families of ex-convicts (terrorism convicts).

The head of BNPT, Komjen Pol Boy Rafli Amar said the construction of this flat was a collaboration program between BNPT and the synergy team of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing in physical development.

This flat, he said, has an area of approximately 527 square meters, and has two floors that are ready to be occupied by students and students, so that it can be used as a character education center for former convicts and combatants, so they do not return to the old community.

Boy Rafli Amar hopes that this facility can be developed as an educational facility managed by YLP, which is a partner of BNPT in various programs, such as religious moderation, deradicalization, boarding places for students from families of ex-convicts, as well as the general public.

"Hopefully this will become an educational institution that continues to develop the concept of Islam rahmatan lil 'alamin. It was explained by the Head of the Java IV P2P (Performing Housing Provision) Center, Sultan Sidik Nasution, that the flats were intended for the YLP itself, for convicts and their children, as well as the general public.

The flats are supported by bed facilities, wardrobes, mattresses, ablution places, bathrooms and toilets, with a total occupancy of 84 people.

Meanwhile, YLP Chairman Ali Fauzi admitted that his party was committed to waive all costs.

"Children of ex-convicts, combatants, we teach here do not charge fees. This is part of efforts to stem the roots of terrorism," he said.
