JEMBER - The ritual that ended in death at Payangan Beach Jember left a sad story for the bereaved family. Husband and wife Syaiful (35) and Sri Wahyuni (30) died leaving 5 children.

Relatives of the victims of Edo said that his relatives died at Payangan Beach, Jember due to the rolling of the waves during the ritual.

"There are 5 children, the first is 15 years old and still in grade 2 of junior high school, the second is 12 years old, the third is 10 years old, the fourth is 5 years old and the last is 3 years old," said Edo while waiting for the bodies of his two brothers to arrive. , Monday, February 14th.

Edo did not know for sure what ritual his relatives followed. What he knows is that his relatives have only been attending the recitation for the past two months.

"It was known that we attended the recitation, it was only about two months old, usually bringing their older children, and leaving the other children with their siblings. Only last night all the children were left in the same house and no one was brought or entrusted to their siblings as usual," explained Edo.

Meanwhile, the Regent of Jember H. Hendy Siswanto, who came to the funeral home after visiting the victim at the Ambulu Health Center, could not hold back his emotion when he saw the victim's 3-year-old child still playing with his brother in front of Hendy.

Regent Hendy, who was accompanied by a number of heads of Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD), also provided gifts and a sum of money to the victims' children and was received by representatives of the deceased's family directly.

"We gave aid and some money for the needs of the victims' children, there are four children and one is an adopted child. And I am amazed that even in this condition, the deceased and the deceased still care for each other," said Hendy.

Hendy ensures that the victim's children, who are currently orphans, have their needs met and are not abandoned.

"Earlier we checked, it turns out that the person in question is included in PKH, and his children also get KIP, so the data already exists and so far we have received assistance, so it's just a matter of prioritizing and adding to the assistance, because now they are the responsibility of all of us," " he concluded.
