Bogor City Government Has Not Plans To Re-Do Face-to-Face Learning Because The Most High Transmission Comes From The Educational Environment

JAKARTA - The Bogor City Government in West Java Province has not planned to resume face-to-face learning in schools because the number of cases of COVID-19 transmission in its area is still high and some of it comes from the educational environment.

Bogor Mayor Bima Arya Sugiarto said that daily data on COVID-19 cases showed that around 240 of the 500+ people who had contracted COVID-19 were teachers, education staff, and students.

"So we have no plans to reopen PTM (face-to-face learning)," he said in Bogor City, quoted from Antara, Saturday, February 12.

According to him, since early January 2022, the number of school residents infected with COVID-19 has increased from tens to several hundred people.

The Bogor City Health Office continues to monitor the trend of COVID-19 transmission, including cases of transmission that occur in school residents.

On Friday, February 11, the total number of COVID-19 cases in Bogor City increased by 621, more than the number of cases on the previous day, which was recorded at 611.

According to data from the Bogor City Health Office, as many as 283 of the total 801 beds in isolation facilities prepared for COVID-19 patients were filled on Wednesday 9 February.

COVID-19 sufferers undergoing quarantine consist of 156 residents of Bogor City, 81 residents of Bogor Regency, and 46 residents from other areas.
